Recipes - from the 5 elements kitchen
The dishes we have put together in this section are all examples of a tasty and nutritious way of cooking according to the 5 elements.
Each recipe also contains information about which elements are strengthened or are relieved; and about the thermal effect of the food; and with the help of the results from your five-element test you can select the dishes that are particularly good for you in any given moment.

You can calm down 'tense' elements, by strengthening other elements. For example: too much metal would be balanced by more food from the water element with rather salty taste.  Or too much fire can be calmed with dishes from the earth element.
Now click on the 5 elements recipe category on the left to see the recipes.

Remarks: The letters in brackets behind the ingredients stand for the five elements: (W) = wood, (F) = fire, (E) = earth, (M) = metal, (W) = water.
In every five element dish all elements have to be included. Though the main focus is for a  particular element to reach a special strengthening.
I always prepare my 5 elements dishes in the five-element cycle, meaning that the single ingredients are processed in a constructive order ie: Wood is followed by fire, fire by earth and earth by metal; and finally metal by water which, feeds the wood again.
You may find the order strange, however, by cooking in the 5 elements cycle, the ingredients are complementary to a harmonious whole.
The amounts are calculated in general to be sufficient for three to four people with normal appetites; unless that is ofcourse, in the recipe itself, another amount is given. To cook for more or less people, simply adapt the ingredients accordingly.

Have fun cooking according to the 5 elements.
